  1. Hi Waisea,

I'm Jade C and I will be reading and commenting on your blog this summer.

Today is the official start day of the Summer learning journey programme! It's wonderful to see your first S.L.J blog post!

First of all, thank you for sharing your special image of Maui and his journey on the waka! It's always nice to see something visual to support your work! I would love to see a lot of images, pictures, or even your own artworks because I am also a visual learner and I love art!

I wonder if Maui needs other siblings to support him and be nice to him! It sounds like his brothers are very mean to Maui. Also, thank you for sharing other stories like 'Maui and the Sun'. Maui does everything with his hook, I wonder if Maui would have any power without his hook? What do you think?

I also like the story that you have shared about Maui and his mother. This story reminds me of a biblical story of Moses. Moses's mother could not raise him therefore she made a basket and floated him on a river, but an Egyptian princess found the basket and she raised him. Have you ever heard about this story before? I was surprised because what happened to Maui was very similar to what happened to Moses!

I can't wait to read and comment your next blog post! :)

    All the best!

    Jade C.
